Strings – The Band

Strings, a well-acclaimed Pakistani band with four live band members is one of Pakistan’s favorites. These internationally acclaimed artists were formally a group of four college students – Bilal Maqsood (vocals and guitars), Faisal Kapadia (vocals), Kareem Bashir Bhoy (bass guitar) and Rafiq Wazir Ali (synthesizer).

The band has a total of six albums so far and they made their Hollywood debut in 2003 with Spiderman’s OST – Najanay Kyun.

Atif Aslam

We all know our favorite Atif Aslam and we love him for his song-writing, singing and acting artistes. He has been often complemented for his soulful voice and music molding skills. In 2004, he became immediately famous after his debut “ÄADAT” and recorded countless of blockbuster albums. He has been on countless music tours as well such as in the UK, Canada, Dubai, etc. His works in Hollywood are not comprised of one song but seven songs including Maula, Doorie, Aadat, Ehsaas, Yaqeen, Mori Araj Suno and Bol Ke Labb.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

If you’re a fan of Qawali, you must definitely know him as one of the most greatest voices ever recorded. His works have been recorded and distributed world-wide. Even after his death, people greatly remember and listen to his sweet Qawali records. He has done and recorded countless performances in Hollywood which include The Long Road, Dead Man Walking, Blood Diamond and many more great works.

Looking at these great artists makes one think that Pakistan is indeed a treasure trove of beautiful artists yet to be mined. We wish that the current and aspiring artists also get a chance to have their music heard world-wide. We wish them all the best!
