Well, what do you know? Just a few days back the news of Momina Mustehsan & Abbas Hasan’s collaboration spread like wildfire. But for everyone who got their hopes high, it was just another rumor! Remember the time when the internet went haywire over her personal life?
A press release stated, “This just in! A collaboration between #CokeStudio darling #MominaMustehsan and French pop sensation Abbas Hasan is in the works. The pair have been working tirelessly on a new song to be called#NaJanoon. In true Abbas Hasan style, the song is meant to be a “dreamy love song” duet between the two and is likely to also feature the star singing some verses in French.”
The answer is NO! Abbas Hasan himself took to social media and cleared all rumors regarding the collaboration.
He stated, “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Momina Mustehsan as an artist but at this time I am NOT doing a collaboration with her.”
“Yes, at one time Momina and I were working on a collaboration but as of yet it’s an unfinished project and I believe that some overzealous individuals in my UK management team felt the need to share this with the fans.”, he added
Revealing about his upcoming venture, Abbas shared, “I’m busy working on a #sectretproject with Armeena Rana Khan which does indeed involve a “dreamy love song”.
Momina too denied all claims of collaboration in an exclusive interview with Express Tribune. She also spilled the beans on her upcoming project which is indeed about girl power and breaking women stereotypes.
“I am working on a project I shared a teaser about on my social media with the hash tag #GirlPower. It’s related to the Punjab Protection of Women against Violence Act 2016 and is a video with plenty of women from Pakistan,” she told Express Tribune “I am also doing another campaign in Pakistan and Egypt that will be out soon.”
Now that it’s all clear, we wish both Abbas and Momina all the very best for their upcoming ventures! And hope there is news of actual collaboration sometime soon.
