One thing in this country that we need to work on besides achieving rights for women, is emotional rights for men. That’s right, just like the discussion about female mensuration is a taboo in our society, a man’s emotional well-being has the same value. Men in our society are taught to be strong, to not cry because it will make them weak and that it’s too “unmanly”.
Ahad Raza Mir is probably the only one who stepped forward in support of many men across the country and expressed his views on the emotional rights for men.
The Aangan actor expressed how we should educate our children from a very young age to cater to their feelings and learn from them. Here is what he had to say:
“Something what I feel strongly about is the way men are told to suppress their feelings to not be emotional, not get angry, not get sad, not to cry,” he said.
“I think it’s something maybe we should teach. Not to spoil, but you know children when they are growing up it’s okay to be emotional, it’s okay to be emotional. They need to understand how to handle them and how to react.” he added.
After his blockbuster Yaqeen Ka Safar, Ahad Raza Mir has been ruling the hearts of his fans by posting adorable pictures with his family and has always expressing love for his mother.
Ahad has done a great job highlighting the alarming issue of men suppressing their emotions and the negative impact it has on those around them. Men also have emotions that they want to share but don’t know where to start from. Remember to always listen to the people around you who need help in expressing themselves and encourage them.
