Ali Zafar To Explore The Genre Of Qawwali In Upcoming Film


Singer turned actor, Ali Zafar recently paid his tribute at the Lux Style Awards 2016 to late Qawwal Amjad Sabri who was assassinated earlier in Karachi in June. Ali was praised immensely over his take on qawwali by the audience. Reportedly, the actor is all set to explore the genre of qawwali further in a Punjabi Film.

According to a press release, a filmmaker has approached Ali after his outstanding performance at the award ceremony. Ali will be singing in a special arrangement for the film. There’s more for Ali’s fans. The star will also have few dialogues in the scene.

While speaking to The Indian Express, Ali shared, “I am proactive towards my passion for music. I want to explore all the verticals of music from romantic songs to qawwalis to rock scores and anthems. There is a request for a qawwali in a Punjabi film”
