More than four years since “Interstellar,” Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are reunited on the cast of Steven Knight’s thriller, “Serenity.” The movie, due in theaters early in 2019, now has a new trailer.
After keeping a low profile since 2017, Matthew McConaughey returns to the big screen in a gripping thriller with Anne Hathaway. “Serenity,” directed by Steven Knight, now has a suspense-filled second trailer ahead of its US release January 25, 2019.
The movie follows Baker Dill, played by Matthew McConaughey, the captain of a fishing boat living a quiet life on Plymouth Island. His life gets turned upside-down when his ex-wife, Karen, played by Anne Hathaway, asks for his help to murder her current husband, played by Jason Clarke. Clearly desperate, Karen offers to pay Baker $10 million to take her violent husband out to the open sea and throw him to the sharks. Struggling with the decision, Baker is forced to confront a past he had tried to forget.
As well as directing, British filmmaker Steven Knight also wrote the screenplay for “Serenity,” his third feature film after “Redemption” and “Locke.” Diane Lane, Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Strong and Rafael Sayegh also star.
