The tensions between India and Pakistan worsens after the Uri Attacks and the hate starts to grow. First, the Indians ban Pakistani Celebrities to work in Bollywood, then Pakistani Cinemas ban Bollywood movies in response.
Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have been under continuous threats for their roles in upcoming Bollywood movies Ae dil hai mushkil and Raees. When the situation worsened the Indian nationalist party Maharashta Navnirman Sena gave them 48 hours to leave the country.
This is not the first time Pakistani Celebrities have been a victim of the Indo-Pak hate. Everytime terrorist activity takes place, the hate, and blame triggers.

Nadeem Mandviwalla also said: “Since this ban is an initiative taken by cinema owners and not the government, it is taking us some time to bring everyone on the same page.”
“We were taking things lightly initially, since the so-called ban [on Pakistani artists in India] was just a few mischief-mongers hurling anti-Pakistan slogans, but things have gotten serious after the official [IMPPA] declaration,” he added.
