Chester Bennington – the front-man of this era’s most successful bands, Linkin Park, died on Thursday (July 20) in Los Angeles of an apparent suicide. The 41-year-old who’s an idol to millions of fans had a prosperous career spanning more than two decades.
Bennington, who was famous for his piercing scream and touching yet free-flowing anguish, released seven albums with Linkin Park. The band’s most recent, “One More Light,” arrived in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. It wouldn’t wrong to say that Chester Bennington, along with Linkin Park reigned as one of the rock’s iconic voices in the new millennium.
