American actor Denzel Washington is back in action in the trailer for Antoine Fuqua’s “The Equalizer 2,” in US theaters July 20.
Oscar-winning American actor Denzel Washington is back on the big screen in “The Equalizer 2,” which now has its first trailer. American director Antoine Fuqua returns to helm this thriller, after previously directing the first installment. The movie is slated for US release July 20.
In this sequel, the 63-year-old actor steps back into role as the retired CIA black ops agent Robert McCall, who returns to his violent old ways to seek revenge for a friend’s murder.
Pedro Pascal (“Narcos,” “Game of Thrones”), Bill Pullman and Ashton Sanders (“Moonlight”) are also on the cast.
This isn’t the first time that Denzel Washington has worked with Antoine Fuqua. The filmmaker previously directed the actor in 2016 movie “The Magnificent Seven,” as well as in “Training Day,” the 2001 movie which saw Denzel Washington pick up a “Best Actor” Oscar for his performance.
Released in 2014, the first “Equalizer” movie — based on the 1980s TV series “The Equalizer” — grossed over $192 million at the global box office.
