Last night, President Obama presented Ellen DeGeneres with the Presidential Medal of Freedom along with 21 other recipients at the White House.
The award is the highest honour that a civilian can receive which recognises the person’s contributions to US culture, security and international interests.

Other big names from Hollywood, music industry and sports were also presented the award which were the following:
Tom Hanks
Robert De Niro
Robert Redford
Cicely Tyson
Bruce Springsteen
Diana Ross
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Michael Jordan ‘guy from Space Jam’
Bill and Melinda Gates were also given the honour for their philanthropic work.
Once the ceremony was over, Ellen celebrated by tweeting a video of the mannequin challenge they did in the White House.
