After unprecedented response in Pakistan, Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat starrer ‘Actor in Law’ is all set to hit the screen in Mumbai, India on 10th August.
The movie featured the late Indian actor Om Puri who played the strict father who wanted his son to become anything but an actor.
In order to pay tribute to the late actor, the film will be screened privately for a group of students belonging to Harkisan Mehta Institute located in Mumbai.
The screening of the movie is said to be led by the college’s orientation day, followed by the inauguration of the Om Puri Foundation. The flick was also screened at a festival in Rajasthan earlier this year.
While talking to the Geo News, the co-producer of the movie Fizza Ali Meerza said:
This was only our second film and he said that he would have done it had it been produced by a big studio. Puri loved the script and did it on a friendly basis. On our part, we ensured that we hosted him well and he did the same for us when we visited India. There’s not a single day when we don’t think or speak of him.
Released in 2016, the movie featured Fahad Mustafa in the lead where he played the role of an aspiring actor. But of course, the movie needed a filmy twist for which there was Om Puri.
On the other hand, Mehwish Hayat played the role of a broadcast journalist who also happened to be the love interest of the actor/lawyer.
Directed by Nabeel Qureshi and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza, the movie received an immense amount of love and appreciation in Pakistan and now it is time to see how Indians react to it.
