Every year, the festival showcases some of the greatest works in cinematic art and this time it will screen three masterpieces from Pakistan as well.
In August last, Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat starrer ‘Actor in Law’ was also screened in Mumbai which was organized by Harkisan Mehta Institute.
The movie was screened to pay tribute to the late Indian actor Om Puri who played a pivotal role in the movie, that of Fahad Mustafa’s father.
These three movies received an immense amount of love and appreciation in Pakistan and now it is time to see how Indians react to it. It must be noted here that Shahid Kapoor’s last Indian flick Batti Gul Meter Chalu was heavily inspired by Actor In Law as the two had more or less the same storyline.
Over the years, there have been other Pakistani films as well, including Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Manto and others, that have not only made it to many international prestigious festivals but received a positive response as well.
