Instead of participating in the national democratic process, some of the major film figures such as Mahira Khan, Humayun Saeed, Hania Aamir, Kubra Khan, Shaz Khan, Yasir Hussain, Hareem Farooq, Bushra Ansari, Ahmed Ali Butt, Mikaal Zulfiqar and others have flown to Canada to attend the 6th HUM Awards, which will take place on 28 July.

The backlash against these celebrities missing the elections was strong on social media.

Even one of their fellow celebrities Farhan Saeed have criticized them. He took to his Twitter account and wrote:

All the people from my fraternity & otherwise travelling abroad at such a crucial time is so heart-breaking. Please let’s not take our country’s future for granted. #Elections2018 #PakistanElections

Many people on the internet agreed with Farhan Saeed and received a thumbs up for raising the point.

Look at what people had to say!

Well, we also agree with it!

But we were pleased to see that there are many celebrities who are actively participating in the political campaigns and supporting their leaders.

Apart from Farhan Saeed, celebrities like Mawra Hocane, Urwa Hocane, Feroze Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi are active in political campaigns.
