After the enormous success of “The Shape of Water,” Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro has sold a new project to streaming giant Netflix.
One of Netflix’s new projects is arriving courtesy of Guillermo del Toro, director of “The Shape of Water,” “Pacific Rim” and “Pan’s Labyrinth.”
“Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight” is to be a anthology series, “equally sophisticated and horrific.”
Del Toro will write and direct “certain episodes,” selecting “top horror writers and new filmmakers” to bring his stories to life for others, according to the Netflix announcement.
There’s no release date or imagery to accompany the reveal, but Netflix’s public-facing website is listing “10 After Midnight” for a 2018 debut.
It’s a second joint project from Del Toro and Netflix, after children’s animated series “Trollhunters,” which has accumulated four Annie Awards and seven Daytime Emmys over the course of its first two seasons.
