The release of the film ‘Logan’ on Friday marked the end of an era, as Hugh Jackman bid farewell to Wolverine. Jackman has played the comic book character for 17 years.

Since he was first introduced, the iconic Marvel superhero most people know simply as Wolverine, has gone by many names from Logan to James Howlett and from one costume to another.
Len Wein’s and Marvel art director John Romita’s creation first appeared as a cameo in The Incredible Hulk, in October 1974. Wolverine then joined a revamped version of the superhero team, ‘The X-Men’.
