Pixar’s animated movie grossed $231.5M worldwide on its opening weekend. This successful performance puts the superhero family’s second adventure at the top of the box-office table, ahead of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Ocean’s 8,” according to figures for the weekend up to Sunday, June 17 from ComScore.
Although yet to open in some parts of the world, Pixar’s animated superhero sequel is already proving a box-office hit in 26 territories. Grossing $231.5M on its first weekend in theaters, “Incredibles 2” storms past “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” with $173.6M, as this weekend’s international box-office leader.
The dinosaur franchise’s latest movie has grossed $370M in total since release, beating “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” which totals $339.5M.
“Ocean’s 8” comes third this weekend, grossing $38.8M, followed by “Deadpool 2,” which has grossed $689.5M in total since opening in theaters.
