The Lion King Live-Action Movie from Disney Annoucned


Disney’s emotional rollercoaster animated movie The Lion King is one of the childhood stories the 90s kids can never forget. The movie came out in 1994 and swept everyone off their feet. Disney is bringing everything back with The Lion King Live Action Movie.

The movie showed how beautiful bond of a father and son, showed a courageous leader and his devoted followers, and overall a family who could do anything for one of their own. Not only that it also showed betrayal, pain, the quest of a son to fulfil his father’s role, and the importance of friendship. Most of all, it taught us ‘Hakuna Matata’! No worries!


The Lion King Live Action Movie will be directed by Jon Favreau. In a tweet on 28t September, Favreau shared that he cannot wait to start on his new project, the lion and crown emoji gave the rest away.

According to Disney’s official website, ‘The Lion King builds on Disney’s success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle BookThe upcoming Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle, is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. Like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King Lie Action Movie will include songs from the animated film.’

Favreau is also the director behind Disney’s latest, The Jungle Book, have to admit, the graphics, the cast, and the movie as a whole is of the best projects by Disney. The Lion King remained the top-grossing animated movie for years, earning a whopping $968.8mn including international box office results.

It won Academy Awards for the original song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and original score. The soundtrack selling over 14 million copies. Disney has also translated the movie for the stage, where it surprised naysayers by winning six Tony Awards and has gone on to become one of Broadway’s biggest hits.
