Millions of Lion King fans around the world (including us) have spent the last decade desperately waiting for a live-action remake of Disney’s classic released in 1994. And it seems, the wait is finally over…well, almost.
A number of lucky fans were treated to the first-ever footage of ‘Circle Of Life’ sequence from Disney’s live action remake of Lion King and as per their Twitter reactions – it’s EFFING AWESOME.
The first footage of Lion King was shown this weekend at Disney’s convention D23 where they also announced the much-delayed cast of Alaadin. Disney is yet to release the footage online so we’ll just have to wait and relive the epic moment when Rafiki introduces Simba on Pride Rock.
According to those who witnessed the magic, the clip showed rhinos, zebra, elephants and other animals gather around a huge rock where Rafiki presents the new baby Simba to the world.
“Jon Favreau’s ‘Circle of Life’ plays out exactly like you might remember, but that baby Simba is EVEN cuter,” wrote Vulture’s Kyle Buchanan of the footage.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Aaron Couch called the clip “absolutely stunning”, while Gizmodo reporter Germain Lussier wrote on Twitter: “I can’t stop crying”.
So far, Donald Glover has been announced as the voice of Simba, James Earl Jones will return as Mufasa, John Oliver as Zazu, along with Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner playing Pumbaa and Timon.

You guys, The Lion King looks so good. At one point, baby Simba sneezes and I absolutely lost it.
