Lux Style Awards – Where Viewer’s Choice Matters Most

Love them or hate them, but Lux Style Awards have been the flag bearer of excellence in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. When there were no awards, there was LSA and even today when every channel is giving out trophies to the best dressed to the most stylish, LSA has managed to keep the TV nominations closer to what they should have been.

Just a few days after announcing the nominations, the management behind Lux Style Awards updated their list and included Baaghi instead of Sammi in Best TV Play category as well as two OSTs – O Rangreza and Baaghi – that missed out in the initial list. Out went Ali Azmat’s Rasm e Duniya OST and Richi Robinson’s Shayad OST which were ‘erroneously’ included in the nominations.
It will be interesting to note that although Lux Style Awards will be aired on Geo TV, it is Hum TV that is dominating the nominations. Out of the 5 dramas in Best TV Play nominations, we have 3 from Hum TV followed by one each from Urdu 1 and ARY Digital. The presence of actors from A Plus, TV One, Geo TV, Urdu 1 and ARY Digital dramas is a welcome change from nominations from just one or at the most 2 channels.

Out of the 5 Best Director and Best Writer nominations, there are 4 each from HUM TV besides Baaghi from Urdu 1 and Muqabil from ARY Digital which is a good sign. So is the inclusion of 2 nominations each from Hum TV and ARY Digital in best OSTs followed by Shuja Haider’s most loved Baaghi OST from Urdu 1. Let’s see which channel manages to win the race because the nominations are tough, especially after the corrections.
