The movie is directed by Anjum Shehzad and stars Fahad Mustafa, Iman Ali, Manzar Sehbai and Sanam Saeed in the lead cast. The movie is based on the infamous 18th Century Urdu poet Mir Taqi Mir.

There were 60 movies that shortlisted for screening at the event which included Mah-e-Mir and a documentary on K2 titled ‘K2 and the Invisible Footmen’ also won the award for Best Documentary Feature.
The movie Mah-e-Mir has also been submitted for the 89th Academy Awards’ Best Film in a Foreign Language category.
