The 58th Monte Carlo Television Festival concluded Tuesday, June 19 in Monaco, crowning the best TV series of the moment. “La Casa de Papel” (Or “Money Heist”) won Best Drama and “Lethal Weapon” won Best Crime TV Series in the International TV Audience Awards with its 31.9 million viewers.
Stars of the small screen headed to Monaco, June 15-19, for the 58th Monte Carlo Television Festival. The event crowns the best TV series in several categories at its Golden Nymph Awards ceremony, held at Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum.
Netflix’s global hit “La Casa de Papel” took the prize for the Best Drama TV Series, while “The End of The F***ing World” won Best Comedy. In the “Long Fiction” category, Ewan McGregor won Outstanding Actor for “Fargo” while Sinéad Keenan took Outstanding Actress for “Little Boy Blue.”
The most successful TV programs, in terms of audience ratings, were also crowned at the 13th edition of the International TV Audience Awards. TV show “Scorpion” won in the “Action and Sci-Fi” category, with 20.8 million viewers, while “Lethal Weapon” won in the “Crime” category with its 31.9 million viewers In the “Telenovelas/Soap Operas” category, “The Bold and the Beautiful” took the top spot with 10.6 million viewers.
