Shaan Shahid is back and with Arth he is making a grand comeback as a romantic lead, breaking away from his Waar, 021 and Yalghaar avatar. Even in his late 40s, he hasn’t lost his music sense which gave us Mujhe Chaand Chahye, Moosa Khan and Daaku. In Arth, he plays a Rockstar who is making a comeback to the music scene and with this song, he delivers a gem that rests somewhere between the East and the West!
Murshed Ji is in many ways similar to Tere Naal from Punjab Nahi Jaungi; like the Shani Arshad composition, as soon as it was heard in the trailer, it intrigued people who waited for the song and were not disappointed. Shaan reunites with Emu (they were part of the Khamaj video) who plays a musician friend and they bring the audience alive with this Sahir Ali Bagga song. Sahir not only composes it but also croons for the veteran actor and the Fair and Lovely Ka Jalwa singer has never sounded better. Not only does his vocals suit the actor but he looks comfortable in this zone, otherwise he sounds like Anu Malik in other songs.
And then there is Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who has matured into an Ustaad since Shaan’s last directorial venture way back in 2009. Here he performs on screen with Shaan’s character and the audience goes nuts since after an amazing composition, an electrifying performance and collaboration of two giants, they couldn’t handle the music video treatment that helps this song register into their hearts and minds. We also get to see Uzma Hassan in the music video who is also part of the love quadrangle in Arth; the audience is waiting for the rest of the songs as well because after Sanwar De Khudaya and this number, one thing is certain that the soundtrack is going to be a blockbuster!
