Pakistani actress, Zeba Bakhtiar is the daughter of Yahya Bakhtiar, who was an attorney general during bhutto’s reign. The 53-year-old actress made her television debut in Pakistan with highly anticipated drama play “Anarkali” back in 1988 alongside Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV). Anarkali was a sad love story for which Zeba won many hearts in the entertainment industry.
Later, Zeba marked her Bollywood debut with Henna in the year 1991. The film was directed and produced by Randhir Kapoor in India. Even though her performance was greatly celebrated in India and Pakistan, Zeba wasn’t recognized until her mind boggling performance back in 1995 in the Pakistani film Sargam, that marks one of the best performances by her through out her career. She was also awarded Nigar Award in Pakistan for it.
Bakhtiar also gave excellent performances throughout her acting career such as Mohabbat Ki Arzoo and Stuntman (1994), Jai Vikraanta (1995), Muqadama (1996), Chief Sahib and Qaid (1996) and Babu (2001). She also proved herself as a successful director after the release of her directorial-debut, Babu which came out in the year 2001.
Aside from working in motion pictures in Pakistan and India, Bakhtiar often played major parts in significant TV serials. She managed to carry the roles of her characters on a whole new level. She is mostly appreciated for her role in ‘Pehli See Mohabbat’ where she portrayed a role of a handicapped girl beautifully and Laag where she played an intense role as a leader during ‘Kashmiri Independence Movement’.
Married More Than Once
Zeba Bakhtiar got hitched four times in a row but sadly none worked out for her. The diva gained much attention from media during four years of her marriage to famous singer, Adnan Sami. Both have a son together namely Azlan.
Sizzle At PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week
The diva was caught walking the ramp for Maria B at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week. She mesmerised the audience with her charming personality and drop dead gorgeous look even in military-inspired garb.
As A Producer
Zeba alongside her son Azlan produced the movie operation 021. Her comeback paid well as 021 made ₨5.9 million (US$58,000) on its first day of release. The film was also nominated last year at Lux Style Awards as one of the best films but unfortunately didn’t win.
Back To Pakistani Drama Industry
After a long break, Zeba Baktiar is back to Pakistani drama industry with a leading role alongside Humayun Saeed, Mahira Khan and Armeena Rana Khan in Haissam Hussain’s adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s novel Bin Roye Ansuu.
