Based on Archie Comics’ “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” is a darker, more macabre retelling centered on half-mortal half-witch Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) as she struggles to navigate between life with her mortal friends, and the world of witchcraft, magical tradition and her family heritage.
The streaming service’s reboot of the teen witch franchise debuted in October, and was confirmed soon after for a second season. A holiday special, “A Midwinter’s Tale,” dropped December 14.
The cast also includes Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, and Gavin Leatherwood.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is also the chief creative officer of Archie Comics, is showrunner for the series.
The second season of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” is out April 5, 2019 on Netflix.
The just-announced 16 episodes will begin production in 2019, and will air in two parts.
