Ramiz Raja is making a film! The ex-batsman confirmed it to a publication saying that he writing and co-producing a film. The film is titled Dorbaz and will star Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt. The movie will unsurprisingly about cricket.
“Sanjay is extremely excited about the script. He’s got great star-power, he’s got presence and I think the role suits him perfectly.”
Speaking about the movie to a publication, Raja talked about the movie being based on the feel good sentiment of cricket and how people can serve the society with such a medium.
“The topic was very close to my heart. I wanted it to reach the audience, be it in the form of a documentary or a film. You know, how cricket could heal and bond every tier of society, especially the downtrodden, little kids lost to terrorism… I’ve had this topic in my mind for ten years. I think [the sport] has strength, a type of special force, a neutral force that can be launched anywhere. Through cricket, through this great medium, we can serve society.”
While there have been rumours circulating around that Mahira Khan will be part of the cast, the ex-cricketer brushed away the speculation saying that it was a male-dominated movie and that casting a female lead wasn’t a priority at the time.
The script of the movie is near completion and shooting is expected to begin in May!
