Saba Imtiaz’s movie adaptation of ‘Karachi You’re Killing Me’, Noor has just released the title track, Uff Yeh Noor! While the original Imtiaz’s story is based in Karachi, the movie is adapted to Mumbai.
The cast of the movie is as follows: Sonakshi Sinha as Noor, Kanan Gill as Saad Sehgal, Shibani Dandekar as Zara Patel, Purab Kohli as Ayan Banerjee and Sunny Leone will have a cameo in the movie.
The title track is penned by Manoj Muntashir, composed by Amaal Mallik and sung by Armaan Malik. The song will give you a gist of Noor’s life as a journalist/writer and how she handles her next to nothing love life!
The director, Sunhil Sippy, dedicated the movie to all the Mumbaikars:
“It was difficult to adapt Mumbai as the backdrop. But, when this project came to me, I was very clear about bringing it to life in Mumbai. Saba Imtiaz (author of Karachi You’re Killing Me) had Karachi as her backdrop because that was her city and I have Mumbai because it is mine. When you watch the film though, you’ll realize that the story does as much justice to Mumbai as the book does to Karachi.”
If the movie will do justice or not, that will only be decided once it hits the cinemas. Till then enjoy the track!
The movie is set to release on the 21st of April, 2017.
