Pakistani movie Azaadi – featuring Moammar Rana and Sonya Hussyn – will be hitting cinemas very soon. The movie tells the story of a patriot who leaves behind his life for the freedom of Kashmir.
According to director Imran Malik, who is making his comeback to films after previously directing Tere Bin Jiya Na Jaye a dozen years back, the film has multifaceted elements like patriotism, action, and love.
He said:
“The film has elements of patriotism, a very powerful love story, some action scenes – a film has never been attempted on such a big canvas in Pakistan before.”
The lead actress Sonya Hussayn had also revealed in an interview that the film gives the message of woman empowerment as well.
She said:
“My character Zara is an independent journalist, who is [of] Pakistani [origin] but was born and brought up in the UK. She’s outspoken, feisty and just a very empowered woman that many young girls will be able to relate to,”
This upcoming flick was shot by Australian cinematographer Ben Jasper and features a soundtrack with music by Sahir Ali Bagga and tracks by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Quratulain Baloch and Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan.
