Pakistan’s first super-hero movie Project Ghazi did what no other movie (probably in any industry) has done EVER. The movie’s release date got postponed AFTER its premiere night in Karachi yesterday.
Project Ghazi – featuring Pakistan industry’s familiar faces Humayun Saeed, Syra Shahroz and Sheheryar Munawar in lead roles was initially planned for release on July 14th but according to the movie’s official Facebook account, that’s not happening anytime soon.
“It is with a heavy heart that we are making the announcement that Project Ghazi’s release date has been postponed. We understand that this was a highly anticipated movie, but films of this magnitude require extensive technical work and hence to do justice to this film genre, we have decided to delay the release from July 14, 2017.
The new release date will be announced soon.”
According to various sources, it was Humayun Saeed who insisted on the delay due to movie’s poor editing. The producers were not willing to delay the release.
Producer Syed Ali Raza confirmed, saying,
“We cannot say much right now but yes, Project Ghazi release will not release on July 14 as planned. There are some technical issues to be fixed. We cannot state the future release date at the moment but we will announce very soon.”
As expected, this sudden delay was met with harsh reactions from the audience and cinema owners who had high expectation from the movie. Directed and Co-produced by Nadir Shah, Project Ghazi’s storyline revolves around an advanced soldier project and it spans over a period of 20 years.
Let’s hope the movie gets a release date soon. Till then, how about watching the trailer again.
