June 8, 2018 will mark the conclusion of the Wachowski’s cult hit series “Sense8,” Netflix has announced.
Netflix has announced a release date and unveiled a teaser image for “Amor Vincit Omnia” (Love Conquers All), the final episode of culture-crossing drama series “Sense8.”
“Together until the end” reads the poster image, anticipating the return of an extravagantly budgeted show about technology, emphathy and connection that was cancelled in 2017 after a two season run.
“Sense8” was the first TV production for Lily and Lana Wachowski, who broke through with the blockbuster “Matrix” franchise (1999-2003) and followed up with a movie version of cult manga “Speed Racer,” David Mitchell novel adaptation “Cloud Atlas” and ambitious sci-fi “Jupiter Ascending.”
Eight characters from wildly different backgrounds found themselves connected through a psychic link, initiated into the next stage of human evolution and pursued by a sinister organization.
It was filmed on location in California, Korea, Kenya, Iceland, India, Mexico, Brazil and multiple European locations; the production crew has returned to Berlin, Brussels, Naples and Paris for the finale.
Set for a June 8 debut on Netflix, the “Sense8” finale is a movie-length affair and expected to last in excess of two hours.
