The legendary Pakistani actor, Shaan Shahid is currently busy in promoting his upcoming movie Arth- The Destination everywhere. Yesterday, he appeared on Geo news’ morning show Geo Pakistan where he talked about his movie Arth, his personal life, and why he chose to remake an Indian movie.
When asked about which real-life character he would like to play if he gets a chance to do a biopic, Shaan expressed that he would be thrilled to play Pakistan’s former president Pervez Musharraf on-screen.
He further added that he is not a supporter of Musharraf but he really likes how the former president of Pakistan has presented his point of view in his book, In the Line of Fire.
“I want movies based on history to be made in Pakistan. When Hollywood can make movies such as Zero Dark Thirty, then why not in Lollywood?”
The much awaited Pakistani remake of Mahesh Bhatt’s Bollywood flick, Arth – The Destination, is all set for its release on December 21st. Written and directed but none other Shaan Shahid, this romantic musical will feature the star himself alongside Humaima Malik, Mohib Mirza and Uzma Hassan in lead roles.
In a video released earlier by the makers, Shaan Shahid revealed:
“THIS FILM DEALS WITH THE CONCEPT OF ‘DECISIONS’ AND THEIR POWERFUL ROLE IN AN INDIVIDUAL’S LIFE AND, EVENTUALLY, IT IS THESE DECISIONS THAT DETERMINE THE DESTINATION, HENCE THE PHRASE: DECISIONS DETERMINE DESTINATION.”
Filled with goosebumps-inducing moments, Arth is a romantic movie that Shaan admits to have made after many, many years.
From its trailers and teasers, Arth looks quite promising with some power-packed performances. Let’s hope it does justice to our excitement.
