Shamoon Abbasi’s short film ‘Mey Rahungi’ is leaving no stones unturned at winning hearts and is setting new records around the world. After impressing the digital audiences in Pakistan, Mey Rahungi is achieving new milestones in the international market as well.
Written and directed by the actor/director Shamoon Abbasi, Mey Rahungi has bagged four awards in Crossover Film Fest 2018, Virginia, USA.
The director of the film took to his social media accounts and shared the news with his fans and followers. He wrote:
Short film Mey Rahungi, based on women empowerment in Pakistan bags four awards in Crossover Film Fest 2018, Virginia, USA.
Well, we couldn’t be any prouder!
He further revealed that the film won him the Best Action Director award while Sherry Shah and Saleem Meraj bagged the Best Lead Role by an Actress and Best Supporting Role by an Actor. The film also received the Best Indie Film award at the festival.
Mey Rahungi is Pakistani short-film produced under the banner of 6dapak. The film is written and directed by Shamoon Abbasi, produced by Sherry Shah and the cinematography is done by Shayan Latif. The film highlights the role of a strong woman fighting against patriarchy and proves that she can raise her voice for her rights without any support of a male figure.
