Making the nation proud once again, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has bagged another nomination for 88th Academy Awards 2016. The Pakistani filmmaker has received the nomination for her documentary- ‘A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness’, in the ‘Best Documentary- Short’ category.

Obaid-Chinoy is the winner of Pakistan’s first Academy Award for her documentary ‘Saving Face’ in 2012. Ranking amongst the only eleven female directors to have ever won an Oscar for a non-fiction film, this will be her second nomination.
The Oscar winner has also launched an Anti-Honor Killing Campaign, The Price of Forgiveness- in her attempt to eradicate honor crimes and assist the countless victims.
The documentary is a joint production of SOC (Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy) films and HBO (Home Box Office) productions.
The Oscars will be held on February, 28.
