Siddharth Calls Out Ranveer Singh For His Misogynistic New Ad

Ranveer Singh recently collaborated with the clothing brand Jack and Jones featuring in their misogynistic new advert. Tamil actor Siddharth, known for his role in ‘Rang De Basanti’, has always been vocal about similar issues about sexism and women’s rights so it came to no one’s surprise that he did not go easy on Ranveer Singh.

The advert showcases Singh winking whilst carrying a woman on his shoulder, exiting the elevator. The elevator attendant is smirking away at the image of the couple as well and both men seemed to be dressed work appropriate. However, the woman of course is adorned in the shortest of mini skirts that conceal nothing whatsoever.

But the words that are sprawled across the billboard is what has everyone angered, it reads, “Don’t hold back. Take your work home.” Not only is this statement completely sexist but also puts all the achievements that our generation has made in accordance to women’s rights, thousands of years back in time.

Siddharth has offered his own thoughts before as well on the adoration of stalking women in films. “We’ve been selling a terrible dream in our films for long. That any man can get the woman he wants just by wanting her enough. Must change,” he tweeted earlier in July this year

Ranveer Singh has yet to comment on his involvement in this advert that has angered many across the nation.
