Supreme Court Suspends Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant Against Ayyan Ali


A local court issued arrest warrant against Pakistani model Ayyan Ali in relation to the Customs Inspector Ijaz Chaudhry’s murder case. The court magistrate Ghulam Latif ordered that Ayyan Ali should be arrested within 10 days!

Ayyan Ali,who is allegedly involved in the money laundering case is the key suspect in the murder case of the main witness Custom Inspector Ijaz. Saima Ijaz, the widow of the deceased witness, had earlier accused the model of being involved in her husband’s murder. She also asked for Ayyan to be put on the Exit Control List.

The model was arrested from Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport on March 14 with USD 500,000 and was accused of attempting to illegally take this amount outside the country. Ayyan has spent around four months in Adiala Jail, Rawalindi, but was granted bail in July.

Saima had said in her statement earlier that her deceased husband was under severe mental pressure before he was killed by unknown assailants on June 2, 2015.

Quoting her husband’s statement she had said that her husband had been threatened of serious consequences for not cooperating in the investigation case of model Ayyan Ali.

Magistrate of a court in Rawalpindi issued a non-bailable arrest warrant of the fashion model on Thursday after she did not appear for a hearing of the murder case.

However, on Friday the Supreme Court has suspended the non-bailable arrest warrant against model Ayyan Ali after a plea was filed in by her counsel Farooq Naik.
