The Second Edition Of Pakistan Film Festival Kicks Off In New York

The prestigious Pakistan Film Festival has finally entered its second edition on Saturday in New York City and some of the biggest Pakistani stars were honored for their contribution in the entertainment industry.

The event was organized by Pakistan’s UN Mission, led by Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi, which aimed to project the soft image of the country in the world.

The guest list of the event unsurprisingly included the industry’s key figures from actors to directors and singers making an appearance.

————————————————————————My grandparents migrated to #pakistan . My parents migrated to #america . Where will I go in search of a fair and just society? ———————————————————————— @sharmeenobaidchinoy is a powerhouse. She tells those stories that are hard to hear, the ones that tug at our hearts and make us feel a deep sense of pain. She tells these stories not because she is filled with hatred but because she is full of love- she cares deeply and wants nothing but the best for her community. She knows that to fix a problem- you must first acknowledge that it exists and to which extent. You must acknowledge it’s destruction. Then you can work towards change, change the laws, change the hearts, and change the minds to bring about the things that are right ———————————————————————— I am Pakistani. I am American. I am my roots and I am my present. My grandparents were illiterate but did everything they could to provide over a decade of education for their children. Those very children built upon what they were given sowed the seeds which let me step foot into prestigious places. They gave me the dream- the ability to dream at all. The gave me access, ability, and mobility to have a lifetime full of opportunity- every step taken not to survive but to thrive- to continuously grow and learn. Because of that privilege I have the responsibility to translate their dreams of a just society into a reality. The vision was given before the provision. ———————————————————————— # 🇵🇰 #🇺🇸 #pakistanfilmfestival #PFFNY18 #nyc
