Veteran TV and film actor Jawed Sheikh is back in the director’s chair and the trailer of his next film Wajood was released at Nueplex Cinemas over the weekend.
One look at the trailer suggests that the director is trying his hand at a couple of genres apart from Romance – Action and Suspense – and keeping in mind that these two genres have a following amongst the audience, the film might actually do well.
Let’s take a look at some of the pluses and the minuses of the trailer in detail so as to form an opinion about the flick.
Here’s the first look of the Official Second poster of Wajood! We can’t contain our excitement till the launch of Wajood’s trailer today!! #WajoodtheFilm #JawedSheikhFilms #SecondPoster #JawedSheikh #DanishTaimoor #SaeedaImtiaz #AditiSingh #ShahidHameed #NadeemBaig #AliSaleem #FarihaAltaf #AsadMehmood #FaizaKhan #ShaheenKhan #MomalSheikh #ShahzadSheikh #BBPR #TrailerLaunch
The film stars Nadeem, Shahid besides Jawed Sheikh which is a casting coup for those who have been following Pakistani films since the 70s.
Although the three actors were busy in the 80s, they never acted together and Wajood brings the together in pivotal roles. Nadeem and Shahid seem to be playing heads of their families here while Jawed Sheikh plays some kind of an investigator.
And if there is an investigator, then there must be something worth investigating. Hmmm. Suspense!
The leading ladies of the film Saeeda Imtiaz and Aditi Singh make their debuts and they seem to be in character during the trailer; one hopes that Wajood becomes their stepping stone in the film world as they both seem fresh and promising; Danish Taimoor looks solid as an airline pilot and from the trailer it seems that the story revolves around his life and ‘wife’, and tragedy gets him into prison for something he didn’t do.
Then there are the songs as well as action sequences that don’t look like the typical dhishoom dhishoom fight scenes usually associated with Pakistani films.
The film looks good from its trailer and one hopes it does well despite being in competition with Imran Malik’s Azaadi and Meenu-Farjad’s 7 Din Mohabbat In also releasing at the same time. It has been produced by Jawed Sheikh’s kids Momal and Shahzad and it would have been great had one of them been part of the cast.
They both are talented actors and one wishes them luck as film producers at Jawed Sheikh Films.
Babar Kashmiri has written the dialogues while has penned the story and screenplay along with Jawed Sheikh who is making his comeback as a director after nearly a decade. Kelvin Keehoe and Asif Khan’s cinematography as well as Turkey’s beauty is bound to mesmerize you as its resistibly colorful.
Even the wardrobe is from big-shot designers like Amir Adnan, Saniya Maskatiya and Humayun Alamgir which raises the bar high for the competition. All the best for Wajood!
