Rapper Kyle, whose debut album is on the way, has released an amusing lyric video for his single “Playinwitme’ in which he and singer Kehlani appear as two puppets who are crushing on the same woman.
As the video opens, Kehlani’s puppet stand-in is seen texting with a distant lover; later, Kyle’s puppet appears to be going through a similar situation with his own romantic interest.
The two then head separately to a house party, where they discover they have both been seeing the same woman. Bonding over their shared pain, they strike up a friendship and head out to a burger chain together.
Kyle made headlines with his performance at Coachella earlier this month, thanks to a cameo by Chance the Rapper during his set.
The Californian rapper, who is best known for his breakout hit “iSpy” featuring Lil Yachty, is set to release his debut album “Light of Mine” on May 18. A few weeks later, he’ll head out on a North American tour with Logic that runs from June to August.
Fellow Californian Kehlani released her own major-label debut album, “SweetSexySavage,” in early 2017 and has since opened on tour for Demi Lovato and Halsey.
