The second Wonder Woman trailer is finally out! The response has been crazy, the audience has been loving everything from Gal Gadot’s accent to the costumes, colors, and the epic action in store for everyone!

From the new trailer, we can pick up many different and exciting points and link them with the original story, while it still has a unique touch to it.

Let’s take a closer look:

1. Modern Day Bookend

From frame 0:01-0:05 Diana or Wonder Woman can be seen in the present day, looking at an old photograph. For those who have watched Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice may remember the old photograph of Diana, Bruce Wayne found and printed back during WWI.Also, if you look close to her left, there is a note written on Wayne Enterprise stationary, though the note is unclear, it seems as if Bruce Wayne is the one who sends the physical copy of the photograph.

Also, if you look close to her left, there is a note written on Wayne Enterprise stationary, though the note is unclear, it seems as if Bruce Wayne is the one who sends the physical copy of the photograph. Did Bruce track down the source of the image? Or has Diana been hiding the picture? A possible glimpse of Batman in the movie?

2. Flashback to Steve Trevor’s Plane Crash

From frame 0:12-0:23, Diana goes into a flashback of the moment when Trevor’s plane crashed into the sea body, after which she jumps into the water to save him. While this is going on, a voice over says “I used to want to save the world. This beautiful place. But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within.”

The pondering about the past, while talking about discovering a darkness indicates that her character has gone through major loss, from what we can gather, the loss of Trevor and her innocence of believing that this world is a beautiful place is what she was referring to.

3. The Invasion of German Soldiers

0:25-0:31 shows that German soldiers are trying to invade Themyscira, but their luck is not working out, as the Amazon tribe has the upper hand.

4. Epione

Not clear yet, but the trailer seems to show Epione from the frame 0:34-0:42, the chief healer of the Amazons, who is played by Eleanor Matsuura. Amazonian healers apparently don’t take the Hippocratic Oath so you can expect her to be kicking a lot of butts.

5. Steve Trevor Explains the World is in Danger & War is Coming

0:49-0:53, Trevor is seen giving an explanation to Diana and Epione about how he is on a mission to stop the current war, and to end all wars. The frame features Diana’s mother, Hippolyta, who according to the origin makes Diana from the soil of Themyscira. However, the frame slightly hints Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor analogy.

6. Unbelievable Weapons

Even gas masks cannot prevent the evil in store!

7. The Masked Badass

0:58-1:00 shows a quick glimpse of a villain under a mask, she is played Elena Anaya, who has a small villain role in the movie, however not much about her character has been revealed, most likely she will play Circe or she can be Baroness von Gunther.

8. Gearing Up!

Diana can be seen gearing up as a voice says “Be careful Diana”.

9. Wonder Woman’s Magical Bracelets Save Trevor

From 1:18-1:21 we see Diana using her iconic bracelets to save Trevor’s life from gunshots. Before the display of her heroic act, we see that Chris Pine who plays Steve Trevor is asked who she is and he replies that she is his secretary, a “very good secretary.”

10. “It is our sacred duty to defend the world”

Diana cannot take the violence any longer, she is seen wearing her historic headband as she tells Trevor  “It is our sacred duty to defend the world, and it’s what I’m going to do.” This line basically explains her character, simple yet tantalizing. The movie may also go on to possibly explain what tragic event happens during the war to save the planet which forces her to go in hiding, and emerge so many years later with Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

11. This Girl has Moves!

From frame 1:43-1:57, Diana is seen in some really neat action, she is breaking windows, bones, and in one of the stills she is seen going up against a character played by Danny Huston. Speculations suggest that he is Ares the God of War.

12. Wonder Woman Needs Grooming Lessons

From 2:15-2:31 we can see Gal Gadot trying to fight an old Western-styled dress while Etta Candy, played by Lucy Davis, can be seen sporting an adorable character as she tells Diana she’s not opposed to “engaging in a bit of fisticuffs should the occasion arise.” It’s a safe bet there will be plenty of Ettas and Dianas out there next Halloween.
